    PD Measurement

Pupillary Distance (PD) is the distance, in millimeters, between the centers of your pupils. This measurement determines the proper center of your lenses, to give you the most clear and accurate vision.

The average PD for an adult is between 57mm and 68mm.

The average PD for a child is between 48mm and 56mm.

    How to measure your PD

    1. Use a millimeter (mm) ruler
    2. Looking into a mirror, hold the ruler up to your eyes.
    3. Hold the ruler against the top part of your nose.
    4. While looking straight ahead, measure the distance in mm, between the centers of your eyes.
    5. Repeat these steps 2 to 3 times, to make sure the number you are getting is consistent.

    Tips:

    • Make sure that you are not using a ruler which measures in inches.
    • If you have a ruler with centimeters (cm), you can convert cm to mm, by multiplying by 10.
    • Easily and accurately measure your PD with this iOS app
